Ditch the Blindfold

Welcome to Ditch the Blindfold. Regardless of what political party we support, or how smart and tech-savvy we think we are, all of us are influenced daily with messages that, unwittingly, cause us to vote for policies that benefit the richest people in the world, while making us believe that we are voting for our own best interests. This is not about right or wrong viewpoints -- it's about manipulation. Fanning the flames and inciting anger over “hot button” issues certainly get the media clicks, but the real long-term goal of billionaire media owners is to sway your vote in their favor.
We hope to shine a spotlight on those powerful, invisible hands that steer our attention and our anger away from those keeping us in the dark. Just remember, everyone thinks "the other side" is living in an alternate universe, but we should all be asking ourselves "how would I know if I were the one being lied to?"
Not convinced? What do all of these have in common: Facebook, Threads, Instagram, WhatsApp, Fox News, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Post, X, The Washington Post, the LA Times, The Economist, and many more? Every single one of them is owned and manipulated by a billionaire who wants to control your vote.
Our mission is to increase American awareness of the invisible “thumb on the scale” of manipulated news and information that shapes our views and most importantly, our votes. In other words, our goal is to help stop people from being played and do that with humor rather than anger.
